Biography: Jai Hyun Koh graduated from Seoul National University (SNU) with a B.S. and an M.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering. He researched under Dr. Kookheon Char at SNU on developing soft lithographic techniques for interfacial engineering. After graduation, he worked at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) for three years, developing electrocatalysts and systems for electrochemical CO2 reduction. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin under Dr. C. Grant Willson and Dr. Nathaniel A. Lynd in 2019. The title of his dissertation is “Functional Organic Materials for Directed Self-assembly of Silicon-containing Block Copolymers.” He then moved back to KIST in 2020. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and applications of functional polymers with emphasis on materials for energy conversion and storage. These include electrocatalytic materials, ion-exchange membranes, binders, etc.
