Biography: Jai Hyun Koh graduated from Seoul National University (SNU) with a B.S. and an M.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering. He conducted research on soft lithography and interfacial engineering with Prof. Kookheon Char at SNU. After graduation, he worked at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) for three years, developing catalysts and systems for electrochemical CO2 reduction. He then completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin under Prof. C. Grant Willson and Prof. Nathaniel A. Lynd in 2019. The title of his dissertation is “Functional Organic Materials for Directed Self-assembly of Silicon-containing Block Copolymers.” He moved back to KIST in 2020. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and applications of functional polymers for energy conversion and storage. These include ion-exchange membranes, binders, and electrocatalysts for electrochemical applications.
